Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle

This release also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
